Alexander Pedals Jubilee Silver Overdrive

We love a good overdrive here at Pedal of the Day, and one that is both based on and sounds like an amplifier is right up our alley. Today’s featured pedal takes on a fairly specific and (to us) extremely nostalgic sound – the one coming from Slash and the classic Marshall 2555SL Jubilee 100W amp. With attention to detail, both sonic and aesthetic, rivaling the original head, the Jubilee Silver Overdrive from Alexander Pedals forces you to get in the ring, and will push your amp, tone and overall sound into a hurricane full of November rain…

A great overdrive doesn’t always need a control section so vast that you need a 50-page manual to figure it out, and that’s exactly what Alexander employs here. Loudness sets the output volume, and Drive adjusts the gain/distortion of the Jubilee. The 3-band EQ section boasts Treble, Mid and Bass controls which create a passive three-band tone stack, voiced like a British amplifier. Able to dial in a slurry of tones, this pedal certainly sounds like it was created right next door to hell, and welcomes you to the jungle of tasty overdrive with open arms.

As you’ll hear in our demo video below, the Jubilee Silver is an overdrive created with a specific sound in mind, and it achieves that sound with precision and authenticity. Just don’t cry when you first plug it in and unleash the powers from within, as it may take a little patience to dial in the sound you’re looking for. A real one in a million effect pedal, you’re crazy if a smile doesn’t adorn your face as you slowly crank this baby up.
