When we think of the most popular places that effects pedals are created, Birzgale, Latvia, somehow always ends up at the top of our list….wait, what? It’s true: while possibly not the most POPULAR spot in the world for pedals, Jānis.lv Effect Pedals are pumping out some incredible gear, all handmade and sounding fantastic. We got a chance to check out their Miesnieks Overdrive Distortion, were truly surprised at how excellent it looked and sounded, and couldn’t wait to get our hands on another of their creations. Well, that time has come – ladies and gentlemen, we give you the Tre Tre Analog Tremolo.
The Tre Tre is a true bypass, analog tremolo that features easy controls and huge tonal washes of sound. In true Jānis.lv fashion, the controls are labeled in Latvian, so a bit of deciphering is required (or you could just look at the manual). Skaļums sets the output Volume, Ātrums controls the trem’s Speed and Dziļums lets you adjust the amount of Depth the effect has on your signal. There are two separate LEDs present as well: the Red one blinks in time to show you Tre Tre’s speed, while the Green light tells you if the pedal is bypassed or not. The detailed letters have been punched directly into the enclosure, too, for a rough yet beautiful look and feel.
This pedal’s wide-swinging sonic spectrum delivers a big range of modulated sounds that add killer shape and tonal experimentation to any rig. From a slow, barely audible blanket of shimmer to a full-on, vibrato-infused cyclone of pulses, ebbs and flows, the Tre Tre gives you a nice set of options in a small package that’s a cinch to figure out (provided you speak Latvian, of course). If you don’t know about this company yet, we highly suggest you get over to their website and see what they’re creating for yourself. But first….be sure to check out our demo below to hear the Tre Tre in action, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel as well! Priekā!
