Zeppelin Design Labs Quaverato Harmonic TremoloTremolo pedals are always welcome here in the Pedal of the Day office, as each one seems to have its own personality, features and tones, regardless of how many knobs, bells and whistles it may have. Today’s featured pedal leans towards the high end of that spectrum, with a ton of tonal options and sonic parameters waiting to be explored, and unleash all of their glory onto any recording or unsuspecting crowd. The Quaverato from Zeppelin Design Labs not only has a killer name, but is a harmonic tremolo that boasts great sounds and versatile functionality, all trapped in a practical and well-sized enclosure.

While the demo video below will cover most of the control bases and functions of the Quaverato, there are a few other things worth mentioning here. Aside from the fact that there are so many variations of sound available via the controls up top, there are some tasty internal surprises as well, making this absolutely one of the most resourceful and accomplished tremolo pedals we’ve had the pleasure to come across. First, you can isolate the LOW and HIGH frequency bands and adjust them EXACTLY as needed, via two internal trim pots, which works well for both bass and guitar.

There’s a Gain trimpot present as well, allowing you to set the amount of boost range allowed by that external knob, from a milder drive to a more distorted sound up near the +15dB maximum. The real standouts here are the two dip switches that allow you to set the crossover frequency for the Low and High Pass Filters, taking the Quaverato’s versatility to new heights. A table in the manual gives you clear and concise settings for differing frequency ranges, letting you experiment and explore a wide variety of sounds before settling on the perfect ones for your individual setup.

Zeppelin Design Labs LogoThis tremolo can be ordered already built for you, but if you are feeling frisky and have a decent soldering hand (we do NOT), you can save some money and order it as a kit as well, bringing a smile to all you DIY’ers out there who love a good challenge. The controls here are digital, but the signal path is all-analog, letting your original tone stay in tact when the Quaverato is bypassed, and who doesn’t like that? This is our first foray into Zeppelin Design Labs’ creations, and we can’t wait to delve into some more of their gear. Be sure to watch the video below to hear this thing in action, and to see all the functionality it holds via its vast parameter section, then head to the ZDL website for more info and to check out more gear!
