RPS Effects Warp Drive Analog Delay

There’s just no substitute for a good analog delay, plain and simple. We love the classic, vintage models, the newer modern stuff and pretty much everything in between. Today’s featured pedal falls into the modern category, but boasts sounds and tones reminiscent of the units from decades gone by. The Warp Drive from RPS Effects gives you that tasty vintage delay warmth based on the noteworthy “bucket brigade’ technology.

A Wet/Dry blend knob begins our journey through the control section, blending your dry signal and the delay effect together to taste. Warp is a neato feature, letting you add in some modulation, for that classic analog sound, controlled directly by your playing. This parameter gives off a great range to experiment with, including whammy bar, pitch shift and full-blown outer space setting possibilities. Feedback sets the number of repeats, going into self-oscillation when cranked, and Time sets your delay time, up to 900ms.

In addition, there are a couple of input jacks you can use to control the Warp Drive via some expression pedals. Looking to set the delay Time on the fly, or want to engage in some wild Feedback adjustment to wow the crowd? Choose one or the other, or BOTH! Wacky sounds and warbles are what we dig about analog delays, and these options give you a way to really showcase all the sounds this pedal is capable of.

This has been our second reviewed pedal from RPS Effects, after the amazing Bit Reactor recently, and we are quite impressed with what they’ve got going on. The Warp Drive emulated classic tones, while adding in some modern features to take advantage of everything it’s got up its sleeve, much to the delight of anyone who plays or hears this guy in action.
