Animals Pedal Tioga Road Cycling DistortionWe have been fortunate enough to review and demo the entire lineup of effects pedals from the crew at Animals Pedal, and are once again more than happy to bring you their latest offering today. Designed in conjunction with another well-known and respected pedal builder, the Tioga Road Cycling Distortion is nice and compact in physicality, but huge in tone and presence. Re-creating all your favorite classic rock guitar sounds, along with some all new modern tonal prowess, this baby blue beast will set you down a new and gloriously dirty guitar path with ease.

The Tioga Road features a three knob control layout, along with a toggle switch for a couple differing sonic modes to choose from. As you may expect, Volume, Tone and Dist do exactly what you’d want them to do, adjusting each of their respective parameters to form numerous overdriven, rock and roll sounds. The toggle brings in new elements of distortion as well, with three separate clipping options to select and enjoy. Up gives you symmetric clipping, down produces asymmetric clipping and the clipping is bypassed completely when in the middle position. Each of these modes has their own unique style to offer, and mixing and matching them with the three parameter controls opens up endless possibilities in regards to finding your perfect distorted tone.

With the tone design coming from our friends at Wren and Cuff, we knew this one would be a keeper, and it most definitely is. A super-textured effect with excellent focus on the low-mids, the Tioga Road Cycling Distortion brings it with a vengeance, though all the while staying crisp and clear for superb note clarity and gorgeous sustain. Cheers to Animals Pedal, Wren and Cuff and everyone involved with this beauty – be sure to visit the websites of both of these rad companies by clicking their logos above, stay tuned for some upcoming Wren and Cuff reviews right here at Pedal of the Day, and you better be sure we’ll bring you the next great thing that Animals Pedal puts out in the near future….cheers!
