The first pedal we had the pleasure of reviewing and demoing from M.D. Effects, the High Tide, was a gamechanger in the realms of chorus, reverb and delay. Today, we get to explore one of those genres in depth, via another M.D. pedal. The Moondust is a stereo reverb pedal that features wide soundscapes, gorgeous overtones and lush, inspired reverb sounds, all packed into a sparkled, space-themed enclosure, perfect for any musical setup.
With just four knobs in the control portion of the Moondust, there’s not a ton to have to figure out, yet the sonic possibilities go to infinity…and beyond. Mix blends your dry signal and the reverb effect, while Expanse controls the density and thickness of the reverberation. Reflection has a broad range, setting the amount of reverb that gets reflected back into itself, creating a large palette of opportunities from which to play. Finally, Brilliance gives you control over the tone of the ‘verb, making it darker when turned CCW, and getting brighter and clearer as you slowly turn it up.
There are stereo Inputs and Outputs here, too, with each pair getting summed down to mono when you’re using a one-amp setup, but basking in beautiful stereo sound if you have a multiple amp configuration. No shortage of outer-space sounds here, the Moondust Reverb does what it promises and more, opening up myriads of auditory bliss, whether with long, drawn-out chords or single, echoed notes, and everything in between. Thanks to the M.D. Effects crew once again for letting us into their world – check out the demo below for a glimpse into the future, then get over to their site to order one for yourself!
