Vick Audio Tree of Life OverdriveWe have enjoyed getting to review and demo a bunch of pedals from Michael over at Vick Audio, and we’re excited to bring another one to you today! Combining the best aspects of two of his favorite pedals, the Zendrive and the OCD v3, Mr. Vickery has taken overdrive sounds into another realm of possibility. Although simple in appearance, the Tree of Life Overdrive is a truly versatile little stompbox, one that will get you many different tones, but will always keep your amps in full-on rock mode.

The Volume, Tone and Gain controls are nothing new, but are able to create a wide sweep of musical tones to choose from. With the Gain turned down, you get more Zendrive-like sounds, dynamic and extremely touch-sensitive, great for a multitude of musical styles. Crank it up a bit in the drive department, and the OCD tones start to emerge, giving you a smooth yet crisp higher-gain experience, thick and full of all the overdrive you can handle.

Vick Audio LogoThe Tree of Life is built with MOSFET semiconductors and Bat41 diodes in the clipping section, for a sweeping range and tonal stability no matter how low or high you have the gain control set. As always, this pedal is built with high quality components, as are ALL Vick Audio products, ensuring a lifetime of experimentation and durability, as we’ve come to expect from this small but exceptional company. Thanks again to Mike and the Vick Audio crew for another gem in a sea of overdrives – the Tree of Life is their self-proclaimed best-selling pedal, and this is absolute proof of that fact.
