While everyone is always out to find a great deal, there don’t seem to be a ton of decent options for low-priced gear that sounds great in the world of effects pedals. That all changed when we plugged in today’s featured pedal and went for a funky, delay-filled ride down the rabbit hole. The Time Force from NUX is a multi modulation digital delay, with a ton of different echo modes and fun around every delay-infused corner.
There are 11 modeling delay functions to choose from on the Time Force, and they all sound pretty damn good. You get access to Analog Delay, Tube Echo, Tape Echo, Slap Back, Digi Delay, Mod Delay, Multi Head, Stereo Delay, Ping Pong and Reverse modes, with four simple parameter controls for each one. Time, Repeat and Mix stay the same for each mode, with the Tweak button letting you dive in and explore. With this control, you get to adjust Brightness, Distortion, Tone, Width, Rate and more, depending on which mode you’re in.
The Time Force also has a number of extra features that are perfect for any effect setup. Stereo Ins and Outs make hookup easy, and the Tails button lets you select how you want the delay to end when you bypass the pedal. Don’t forget, too, there are 9 Presets you can set and save for easy access, a note subdivision switch AND a looper which lets you record up to 40 seconds, great for practicing or working into your live show.
The best part here is that you get all of this for a great price – we got ours like new for around $60, which barely gets you a bad-sounding overdrive from other companies in this price range. The pedal itself seems pretty durable, and if something does happen to it, you won’t have to break into your piggybank for an expensive repair job! We’re pretty impressed with this little guy, so stay tuned for more review and demos of NUX gear in the near future, and watch the video below to hear some of the great tones and sounds the Time Force can create!
