Fuzzzzz…..we dig it, as do a lot of you players out there. While fuzz might not be for everyone, those of us that like it like it a LOT, and today’s featured pedal is a fuzz to end all fuzzes (if that’s actually possible). You probably know the name Scotty ProAnalog, and we’re going to take a look at his MkII Fuzz V2 pedal, which replicates everything from timeless 60’s British fuzz tones to medium-gained fuzzy spitness to high-gained fuzz madness. You ready?
This fuzz is based on the Tone Bender style fuzzes, using NOS NPN germanium – silicon transistors, which make it actually daisy chain playable with other pedals on your board. There are two simple controls here: Level, which sets the overall output volume of the pedal, and Attack, which lets you set the amount of fuzz you’d like present in your signal. The Attack features an improved overall range, bigger bass response and perfectly EQ’d top end brilliance in the V2, making it a cinch to dial in whatever style and sound you’re looking for. Plus, it has a smooth and singing sustain, perfect for ringing chords and fat, fuzzy lead runs as well.
All ProAnalog Devices are designed and hand built by Scotty in the USA, and come with a limited lifetime Transferable warranty. The MkII Fuzz V2 is rue bypass, using 9VDC jack power with low noise and a lot of tone. This is truly one of those pedals you plug in and go “WOW” right from the start, knowing you’ve found something special. Thanks to Scotty for being a great dude and sending this guy to us – these were made in small batches, so they’re a bit on the rare side, and if you see one, don’t hesitate to scoop it up with a quickness.
