It’s been a hot minute since we reviewed an effect from Throne Room Pedals, but we’re glad we got to check out today’s featured piece of gear. The Atlantis Overdrive is a low-to-mid gain dirt pedal, providing plenty of crunch and boost for any situation. Let’s check it out!
The Volume, Tone and Drive controls are standard fare for most overdrives, and the Atlantis is no exception. The Drive in particular has a wonderful range of sounds, from a slightly dirty boost to a blissful, tone-filled overdrive when cranked up. The Tone knob works in conjunction with the two toggle switches present here, for a wide range of tones to fit any style of music. The first toggle is a Hi-Cut, which allows you to tame any unwanted higher frequencies that may be present, especially in treble-heavy guitars or pickup configurations. The second toggle is a Fat Boost, which lets you add a bit more low-end into the mix, providing a bass-induced crunch that will really get your amp working.
Not just for your electric instruments, the Atlantis also works great on acoustics, giving you a nice, warm boost without fear of overloading your signal, or getting too much feedback distortion, due to the range in all of the controls aboard. As far as electrics go, it works wonders with single coils, humbuckers and P90s alike, making it a versatile machine for stage and studio. Check out the Throne Room Pedals website for more gear they offer, and don’t forget to watch and like the demo below. Adios!
