Before the name Devi Ever was recently issued back to the original owner, they were making pedals under the moniker Fuzz Goddess, and we’ve got a look at one of these pedals for you today. The Atomizer is a fairly stripped-down fuzz, with only two controls, but the amount of the effect here is close to overwhelming, that’s how much fuzz is available. Let’s see how this guy fares against some of the other fuzzes we’ve tested, shall we?
The control section is easy: Volume and Anamorphosis, which is essentially the Fuzz control. This thing will get LOUD, too, so set the Volume at a low setting before you turn it on, and then adjust to taste. The Anamorphosis knob, even when set at Zero, gives off an enormous wall of sound, and the fuzz effect itself is off-the-wall and rather unruly (in a good way). As this dial gets turned up, listen to the pedal go into psycho square wave mode, unleashing a fury of spits and gargles that may end up damaging your amp, speakers, eardrums and entire lifestyle if you don’t learn to control it with a quickness.
Not sure how many of this model were made, as they seem to be discontinued from the Fuzz Goddess online store, and replace with a newer model, the 4K, with a couple more features, so this little guy might just be a rare find as of now. If you’re looking for a nice, tame, getting-dirty-on-the-weekend fuzz box, you should most certainly look elsewhere. This ain’t your grandpa’s fuzz pedal, and will only be tamed by those deemed worthy. All joking aside, this is a powerful and loud fuzz, and if you’re in the market for that specific combination, grab one of these…if you can find one.
