Continuing our look at analog delay pedals this week, today we take a look at another incredible pedal, one that features the analog warmth and dirtiness we all love, plus controls for modulation, making it even more fun to use. The Supa-Puss™ Analog Delay from Way Huge Electronics not only sounds like a classic analog delay, but has some excellent modern features to make it a great delay hybrid. Plus, you can get up to 900ms of manual delay time and an astonishing 3 FULL seconds using the Tap Tempo switch. Let’s check it out!

Delay, Mix and Feedback make up the large portion of the control section of the Supa-Puss™ near the top of the pedal. Using the Delay knob, you can get up to 900ms of delay time manually, but if you use the Tap Tempo switch, you can utilize up to 3 seconds of delay, which should be plenty for almost anyone….almost. Feedback controls the amount of repeats that appear after the initial delay note, from a single repeat to a whole slew of ’em. Mix lets you blend your Wet and Dry signals together, enabling you to have precise control over your effected sound.

The Supa-Puss™ also features a 4-subdivision mode button (Quarter note, dotted eighth, eighth note triplet or sixteenth note) that are individually selectable OR you can use them in Chase mode. Here, the pedal scrolls through each mode, creating a stream of crazy sounds and subdivision switching. Gain and Tone dials add yet another dimension of control to the delay effect, and the Depth and Speed knobs allow you to add in some beautifully tasteful modulation, echoing the tape and analog delays of decades past.

If all this wasn’t enough, you can also use an Expression pedal to control the delay time externally, and you can also activate the Trails function by holding down the Tap Tempo switch, letting the delay effects gently trail off after the Supa-Puss™ has been bypassed, for a smooth end of a song, or transition to the next. This delay from Way Huge Electronics offers a TON of options in a nice, pedalboard-friendly size. The big brother to the Aqua-Puss™, this delay boast a few more features and a wider array of sounds to choose from. Make sure to check out the Way Huge / Dunlop website for more killer pedals, too!
