We’ve been really digging some reverb pedals lately here at Pedal of the Day, and Chuck Pedals has recently released a hidden gem that a lot of folks might not know about. Getting an update from its previous version, the Blue Dream V2 features the same sparkling, robust and awe-inspiring reverberated sounds as their V1 did, but with a few extra options to really make it a sleeper pedal in the reverb community.
The Deja knob starts off the control section, and adjusts the overall decay of the reverberated signal. This knob is new to the V2 of the Blue Dream, and adds a great new component to an already rad pedal. Mood is a cool control, as it acts as an equalizer for the reverb, adding in higher or lower frequencies where you see fit. Verb, surprise surprise, controls the amount of reverb the pedal produces, from a slight echo to a full-bodied, lush , powerful reverb. Lastly, the Daze control adjusts your feedback levels, making it one of the most useful controls on the board.
With four control knobs, you can imagine the amount of sonic possibilities located in the depths of the Blue Dream. The previous version only featured 3 knobs, so this incarnation has at least one leg up on its younger sibling, and really brings out some great tones from your guitar and amp. While reverb can sometimes be a little overdone, this blue gem produces an even-keel level of effect, without compromising your original tone a lot, and allows you to specify just how much of each control you’d like present in the reverb sound.
The trippy graphics alone will make you want to see what this pedal is all about, and once you plug it in, you’re guaranteed to find some incredible settings to use in your rig. Featuring true bypass, using high quality audio grade components and built by hand individually, you’ll have no concern for any corners that may have been cut on this pedal. While it might not yet be on everyone’s radar, guitarists from all walks of life should check out the Blue Dream and what it brings to the table, especially if you’re dead serious about adding some rad reverb to your sound. Thanks again to Chuck Pedals for sending this newly-upgraded pedal our way to check out – we’re definitely excited to see what other curveballs they have up their sleeve for the next big release.
