Roadie Automatic Guitar Tuner

I know, I know, today’s featured piece of gear ISN’T a pedal, but I gotta switch it up once in a while, right? It IS, however, an important piece of the puzzle that makes up your sonic arsenal, and one that is a must-have before an practice, gig or recording session: a tuner. Despite not being a stompbox, the Roadie Automatic tuner might become one of your go-to items on a regular basis, once you sit down with it and see what it does.

Working in conjunction with your smartphone, the Roadie Tuner allows you to choose from multiple alternate tunings, like Drop D or Open G, or create your own personalized tunings that you can access in seconds. The Roadie connects to your mobile device via Bluetooth, or, if you’re using an electric guitar, the Roadie comes with a 1/4″ adapter that lets you plug right into your phone, cancelling out any unwanted outside noise, for super-accurate tuning. Speaking of which, the Roadie Tuner is THREE TIMES more accurate than the human ear, making sure you’re really in tune and really ready to go at the gig.

Once you get your instrument set up in the app, and get it calibrated once, the Roadie will get you in tune from then on so fast it’ll make your head spin. Quick, easy, accurate, always on point AND it works as an automatic string winder as well, speeding up the string changing process, too. Add as many different instruments as you like, for fast access to different tunings, different string setups and more – the Roadie does it all.

Able to work with Electric, Acoustic and Classical guitars, ukuleles, banjos, mandolins and more, the Roadie Tuner is a one-stop-shopping device for all your instruments (well, almost all – no bass, violins or wooden-pegged instruments). A truly unique tuner is a sea of them, I’ve been loving mine since it arrived in the mail, and while my pedalboard tuner is going to stay put, I wouldn’t ever think of starting a session or practice without putting this little guy into action, and recommending everyone else in the room do the same. Thanks to Hassane and the crew over at Roadie for letting us check this thing out – I plan to have it in the vicinity of all my guitars until I wear it out…and then I’ll have to buy another one.
