The Number Four installment in our special “Fly Boys Week” of pedals is a modulation-based effect that is sure to turn a few heads when applied to your tone. The FB-04 Chorus pedal from Totally Wycked Audio is at the same time subtle and powerful, adding another dimensional layer to your already sweet sound.

As with the other pedals in this series, the controls are few, but the tones are abundant. Level controls how much modulation you add into your sound, as it gets mixed with your dry signal. Depth allows you to adjust the intensity of the chorus, from a slight overtone to a lush, watery shimmer, creating a sonic blanket that gently washes over your amp. Finally, the big fat Rate knob, again oversized for easy foot manipulation, controls the speed of the modulated effect, from a slow and gentle wave to a high-speed pulse, creating a wide range of chorus sounds to test and explore.

The FB-04 Chorus is a great way to add some depth and further shape your tone, and pairs really well with other pedals, especially a good overdrive, as the two mix together to form an impenetrable force field of sonic pleasure. At slow speeds, this crystal clear-sounding modulator gives off just a hint of sparkle, while it can totally transform your entire tone and setup when maxed out, leading to much musical exploration and discovery.

The entire line of Fly Boys pedals are encased in sturdy but lightweight aluminum enclosure, making sure they can withstand any punishment thrown at them. Plus, with their small size, traveling to gigs and saving pedalboard space are certainly guaranteed. Thanks to Kevin and Godlyke for sending us this lineup of pedals for this exciting and Totally Wycked review week here – come back tomorrow to check out the final installment in this great series of Fly Boys pedals!
