Thick, rich chorus and vibrato have been a staple of music since the 1960’s, when those sounds first appeared and sent music as we know it into an entirely new dimension. Based on the big amps and new effects of that era, the Warble Tron from JHS Pedals is a classic take on an age gone by.
The controls are laid out neatly here, with the smaller Depth (effect intensity) and Volume knobs tucked away on the left, near a toggle switch that allows you to select between Chorus and Vibrato modes. Both shine in their own right, and can both be controlled by the over-sized Speed knob on the right. The obvious stand-out feature of this pedal, the Speed knob was made specifically large so you can control it easily with your foot, allowing for real-time adjustment in a live session or recording studio, to fit your speed needs at any given moment. Thick warbly Uni-Vibe sounds and gorgeous, shimmering, watery chorus are present when this pedal is engaged, and both will provide a beefiness and shine to your tone, regardless of where the settings happen to be.
Simple but powerful, the Warble Tron will transport you back to a time when a little fella named Jimi blew everyone’s mind. Turn on this blue box, and maybe you’ll be able to do some of the same.
