Pedal Projects Limited Edition Tremolo - Pedal of the Day

Pedal Projects Limited Edition Tremolo

I’m always excited to find a rare pedal, something that was a prototype or a one-off, that hasn’t been mass-produced, and frankly, can’t be had by other players. Maybe that sounds a little selfish, but hey, you all feel the same way! Case in point: this Tremolo pedal from our friends in Iceland, Pedal Projects.

Now, there’s nothing too fancy about this tremolo, which is one of the things I like about it. As much as I love a pedal with 8 million options to choose from, it’s nice to sit down with a 2 knob, 1 toggle pedal and just relax and play. There are 2 unlabeled control knobs on this Tremolo: Speed and Depth. The Speed has a good range, going from a turtle’s crawl to a freakout, breakneck pace, with many variations in between. The Depth is also fairly far-reaching, going from a really subtle, almost non-existent intensity all the way up to a full-on powerful, chunky, rhythmic pulse, almost overpowering your guitar’s dry signal, but in the best way possible. There’s a toggle switch as well right in the middle, which selects between a square and sine waveform, for even more tonal options.

This Limited Edition Tremolo is not in production, and I’m not even sure how many of them Ásgeir actually built, so this one is pretty special. It’s a little beat up, but I kinda like pedals when they’re nice and broken in and road-worthy. If you happen to run across one of these on your many pedal-searching adventures, pick it up without a second thought – you won’t be disappointed.
