Keeley Electronics Sfocato Fuzz Wah

The definition of the Italian word Sfocato is: blurry, vague, fuzzy. Vague I’m not so sure of but, this pedal is definitely fuzzy. I’m not the most coordinated guy in the world, so I have put off buying a wah pedal. I’m doing good to get the right hand working with the left as it is, so the thought of mixing my foot in there didn’t sound appealing at all.

When I saw that Keeley was introducing the Sfocato Fuzz/Wah, I was intrigued. Most auto wah’s didn’t really sound like a wah pedal to me, they just sounded meh. And you can never have enough Fuzz pedals, can you? After I took the plunge and bought it, the first thing that stood out to me was that this pedal has all the qualities you expect from a Robert Keeley pedal. Built to last, it’s a very solid pedal that has quality written all over it. The color scheme stood out to me also, like a European Rally car or an Italian soccer jersey. It’s just a very cool looking pedal.

As far as features go, I really like the switch on the side that lets you select between having the fuzz/wah or fuzz alone. This is a nice feature, but the fuzz/wah is where the magic is. After plugging it in and tweaking it a little, I was off to the races. For some reason, though, I can’t stop rocking out the Money for Nothing licks. If you’ve always wanted to dip your toe in the wah pool but wasn’t sure if it’s for you, this is the pedal to have.
