MRB Pedals kinda snuck up on everyone, and they’re churning out some great pedals for us all to enjoy. A little while ago, we did a review of their LOLO Tremolo, which was fantastic, and now we’re back with a great little overdrive: the Mini Sucio.
With it’s ultra-small, pedalboard-space-saving design, the Mini Sucio is perfect for anyone who wants a nice overdrive for their guitar, but doesn’t want to have to lug around something that weighs a ton. MRB has crammed a lot of options into this little green box, which can be difficult to accomplish, but works out well here. The Bypass switch is located near the bottom of the pedal, for easy access, and they managed to squeeze THREE control knobs onto an enclosure that measures 4″ x 2.25″ x 1.5″ inches. Wow. Volume, Gain and Tone are the controls, which are pretty standard for any drive pedal, but since it’s such a small box, the Tone control is cleverly placed on the right-hand side, because honestly, it just wouldn’t fit anywhere else! This pedal is not going to blown down your neighbor’s windows or send your wife to her mom’s house for the weekend, but it gives a great punch to your guitar’s signal, and will drive your amp to right where you need it.
This is a smooth-sounding, small but powerful overdrive pedal, perfect for musicians who need an extra bit of boost and crunch, but don’t want to throw their back out carrying it around. Thanks to Luis from MRB Pedals for sending me this little beauty to review, keep an eye out for more of their stuff to come in the future, and don’t forget to check out the MRB Facebook page!
