If you’re looking for a deep, lush chorus pedal to add a bit of depth and character to your playing, then look no further than the Analog Chorus from CMATMods. This box produces sounds reminiscent of vintage choruses from the past, and it does so because pedal maker Chad uses the discontinued BBD MN3007 and MN3101 analog chips, making your tone warm, smooth and buttery fluttery.
The Blend knob is always a welcome knob, on any pedal, really, for dialing in the exact amount of the effect you want. Although not a staple on every pedal I come across (not by a long shot), it’s always nice to see it show up, especially on any type of modulation pedal. The Rate knob has a wide range of speed, from slow, mellow and subtle scents and sounds to super-fast, high-energy warble, almost to the point of being buzzy. The Depth knob works in conjunction with the Blend knob to pinpoint the sweet spot where your tone really sparkles and comes alive.
Almost any shimmering chorus tones you can think of are achievable with this little white box, from classic Police tunes of the late ’70s, the ’80s lush tones of Johnny Marr and the Smiths, Slash and his brilliant work with Guns N’ Roses, and the ever-popular intro section of Nirvana‘s ‘Come As You Are’. The Analog Chorus from CMATMods – go get’cha one.
