Joyo JF-02 Ultimate Drive Overdrive

I wasn’t sure what to think about the Joyo Ultimate Drive when I purchased it. I was new to Joyo and was wondering if a 40 dollar pedal would be a do or a don’t. My expectations were exceeded when I ran it through a telecaster into a Marshall. Amazing overdrive sounds and incredible transparency. At an extremely low gain setting, it’s a very Klon, Soul Food feel. As you turn up the gain, you get some of the best Plexi Marshall sounds ever, and with the gain at 3:00 or higher, you get almost a distortion, creamy, but with exceptional clarity and still transparency. I can’t get enough of this pedal to be honest. It is my favorite overdrive over all I’ve tried and owned.

Gain, Level and Tone Controls
Toggle High / Low switch for Mid spectrum EQ cut
True Bypass
Aluminum alloy casing with stoving varnish finish.
Dimensions: 11.8(L)X6.4(H)X3.8(W)cm

  1. I have a joyo tremolo and also for what I paid it does a good job if your tremolo isn’t a big deal in your chain.

  2. From what I’ve read this is a pretty good replica of an OCD, though not sure which version. Thanks for the review!
